The Denton Pants

The kind of pant that looks sculptural on the hanger and somehow better when you’re slouched on the couch. Denton is wide-legged, balloon-shaped, and unapologetically voluminous. The elastic waist makes them easy; the side seam that wraps to the front makes them clever. Add piping there if you’re feeling sporty, ironic, or both.

They’ve got slash front pockets, back patch pockets, and just enough attitude to handle a blazer and heels without flinching. But they’re just as good with a tank top, flip flops, and a bad mood. Wear them to pretend you’re headed to a board meeting. Or to eat cold leftovers straight from the fridge. Nobody needs to know which it is.

Best in something with a bit of structure and drape tension—twill, canvas, nylon faille, cotton sateen, a lightweight denim that doesn’t try too hard. They move well. They do nothing well. Which is sort of the point.
